About the Play

In Greek mythology, Nemesis is the Goddess of Retribution, the one who humbles excessive pride or hubris and preserves the cosmic balance. In Nurul Momen’s play ‘Nemesis’, we witness a similar, ruthless downfall of an unmerited ascent. This rise may occur through choice, by compulsion, or through the intricate entanglements of relationships. However, its core premise remains: there is no escape from the grip of Nature when one’s undeserved elevation is built upon the crushing of others.
