About Us

Fame School of Dance, Drama and Music launched in Chittagong, Bangladesh with an aim to train and teach the various practical aspects of the ‘Art of Theatre’ and the development of the essentially intangible concept of the creative imagination and its expression within the co-operative framework of the group. 

Dedicated to the development of new concepts and views, FAME is one of the preeminent theater training grounds in the country, designed to educate the person to the personality and to prepare a group of enriched and attuned theater artists to transform a society.

The School provides a One year long ‘Theatre Appreciation Course’ (initially that was a six months long course) in acting and design, and a short course (Six Months) basically on acting. 

From 2001 onwards FAME Department of Drama has been staged the plays of some world renowned Playwrights. Such as Sophocles, Moliere, Jean Anouilh, Andre Gide & Jean Louis Barrault, Jean Giraudoux, Rabindranath Tagore, Henrik Ibsen, Eugene Ionesco, Samuel Becket, Helen Cixous, Carlo Goldoni, Albert Camus and others. The Department of Drama attended `Bharat Rang Mahotsav’- an international theater festival organized by National School of Drama, New Delhi for five times and also in the prestigious theater event `8th Theater Olympic’ in 2018. 

Department of Dance and Music provides a 4 Year long training period including a one year Foundation Course and three year long Diploma Course. 

Department of Children’s Theatre & Recitation provides 4 year long foundation course in acting and recitation. 

Department of Dance staged dance drama like ‘Radhar Maanbhajan, Shyama, OvijaanKrishnokoli, Kaal Mrigaya’ and Children Drama Department produced ‘Ha-Za-Ba-Ra-La, IcchepuronGhuri, Laal Komol Nil Komol, Madhyam Putra. 

Fame School of Dance, Drama & Music became a faculty of Artisan’s, endeavor to enrich themselves with their continuous practice and creativity.

About the Directors


Ashim Das, A pass-out from the National school of Drama, New Delhi. Director of Fame School of Dance, Drama & Music. Chairman of Department of Dramatics, University of Chittagong. Has directed and designed more than 60 plays. Made adaptation of ‘The servant of two masters’ of Carlo Goldoni; 'Archangels don’t play pinball’ , ‘A woman alone’ and ‘Waking up’ of Dario Fo; 'Derh inch upor’ of Nirmal Varma; ‘Now you see it’ of George Feydou; ‘The lesson’ of Ionesco; ‘Drums on the Dam’ of Helen Cixous.


Written some children plays like ‘Notoon Shinghashon Cai’, ‘Mora Gunger Shoikote’ and ‘Becaram Kenaram’.


Conducted several workshop on acting and direction organized by Bangladesh Group Theater Federation and others.


Traveled UK (2005) and France (2010) with the invitation of Human Rights Forum- UK and Marie de Paris. Produced two plays at UK, 'George Dandin' and 'Tamasha- a documentation of disgrace' at Oxford House Auditorium, Bethnal Green and observed some classes, theater and work of Ariane Mnouchkine L’avanture du Theatre du Soleil in Paris.


As a young theater director and designer received “ Zakaria Smriti Padok ” on 2010. And The Best director award for the play ‘ The Mad Woman of Chillot’ on 2009 in International French Drama Festival, Dhaka.

Tilottoma Sengupta, a recipient of Scholarship from Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR- 1994-98) had her initial training from the tender age of 4 from Smt. Rita Dastider. Later on was groomed by Guru Runu Biswas and his daughter Smt. Krishna Biswas. An outstanding choreographer and dancer Tilottoma completed her 4 years Diploma in Kathak, the ancient art from National Institute of Kathak Dance, Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, under the guidance of Legendry Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Moharaj, Smt. Vaswati Misra and Kishan Mohan Moharaj.
Besides, she completed Sangeet Visarad (1st part) from Gandharva Mohavidyalaya, New Delhi and learnt Bharatnatyam from Sangeet Bharati,
She had several solo and group performances in the major cities of Bangladesh and India.

At present she is the founder director and a trainer of Kathak Dance of Fame, School of Dance, Drama & Music, Chattogram, Bangladesh.
